Dunnet Head Accommodation
- There must be a cloudless sky
- Can only be seen in the winter between October and April
- It must be a moonless night
- The sun has to be active - lots of sun spots
- Interplanetary magnetic field must be suitably aligned or the aurora cannot be seen
